 | Photos and words: Kealan Shilling I got off the Tram in Portland. It was the middle of summer, 92 degrees and for some reason, I was on my way to Mt. Hood to shoot a snowboarding story in July – or camping story or something. I had 3 huge bags, one with photo gear, one with some camping gear, and the other with snowboard gear and some clothes. My friend Maxwell met me at the stop on his bike and threw one of the bags over his handlebars. Walking down the street we were both sweating. Why? I kept thinking, but then I saw this peculiar lady wearing a funny outfit, she had a face, the kind you pay attention to, and got into a funky old car, and as quickly as I wanted to reach for a camera and take her picture, it was too late, she was gone. Right then I realized I was in Portland for a simple reason. I was there for another adventure, and to capture it all. I pulled my camera out and kept walking.
